I'm your pusher

One of my faves, Christian Hansen & the Autistics, are about to shoot a video for their insanely catchy song, Cocaine Trade. Yes! They're looking for extras -- so if you're free on Sunday , Sept. 20, head on over to Wunderbar, 8120 101st St, at 3 p.m.

Here's what they're looking for: "Everyone is invited. Even Moms. Dress like you are going to a show, dress like yourself. Try not to wear big logos or too much black. Don't be shy, share your Sunday with us."

And a moose head ...

Birds, too!

Hey, more bears!

Rainbows and idiots

* Shout Out Out Out Out’s remix of Moby’s Mistake is now available on the little idiot’s latest EP. (I’m not being mean — “little idiot” is his own description, not to mention the name of Moby’s label.) Shout Out will perform two gigs on Saturday, Oct. 10 at The Starlite Room. Moby will make his first local appearance on Friday, Oct. 23 at Edmonton Event Centre. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.

* Faunts are facing off with the likes of heavyweights such as rapper Lupe Fiasco, New York hipsters MGMT and guitarist Joe Satriani. The local dream-rockers and their single, Feel. Love. Thinking. Of., are featured on the soundtrack for the new video game, NHL 2K10. (Not to be mistaken with NHL 10.)

* The Bounce 91.7 FM ’s latest Showdown winner, Justin Blais, is now promoting his first soul-pop single, Some Kind of Beautiful. He recorded the song and another, One Night, with Vancouver’s Hipjoint Productions. They’ve also written tunes for Kreesha Turner, Shiloh and Quanteisha Benjamin.

Go West

Despite his hints on The Jay Leno Show, Kanye West won't be taking any time off after making an ass of himself on the MTV Video Music Awards. His tour with Lady Gaga is a go -- including a Nov. 28 stop at Rexall Place.

Tickets are $45.50, $75.50, $99.50 and $149.50 plus service charges. On sale: Friday, Sept. 25 at Ticketmaster.

West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the awards, prompting artists, fans and even President Barack Obama from chastising the egotistical rapper. He then appeared on The Jay Leno Show and mused about the need to "take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve."

Untapped Alberta

Hip-hop crew Politic Live and soul-pop vocalist Krystle Dos Santos are two of the headliners of a new concert series sponsored by Canada’s hippest bank, ATB Financial, Big Rock and Alberta Music.

The local artists will perform as part of the Untapped Alberta Music Series on Friday, Oct. 23 at the Arts Barns. The show is one of five in cities and towns across the province. The series kicks off next Friday in Calgary with The Wet Secrets and Chad VanGaalen. Quick tangent: Fans can download a free EP of B-sides from VanGaalen’s Polaris Music Prize-nominated album, Soft Airplane, from this site. The Polaris will be awarded on Monday, Sept. 21 in Toronto. Watch it on MuchMusic's website.

As for Untapped Alberta, the series includes stops in Medicine Hat, Red Deer and the secret rock ‘n’ roll capital of Alberta — Beaverlodge. (I feel like using all-caps: BEAVERLODGE!) Tickets are $10 at any ATB branch. Proceeds from the Edmonton show, which also features singer-songwriter Carrie Hyrniw, will be donated to the Youth Emergency Shelter Society.

"We will be victorious!"

What can I say? I'm in love with Muse's new record, The Resistance.
