Rainbows and idiots

* Shout Out Out Out Out’s remix of Moby’s Mistake is now available on the little idiot’s latest EP. (I’m not being mean — “little idiot” is his own description, not to mention the name of Moby’s label.) Shout Out will perform two gigs on Saturday, Oct. 10 at The Starlite Room. Moby will make his first local appearance on Friday, Oct. 23 at Edmonton Event Centre. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.

* Faunts are facing off with the likes of heavyweights such as rapper Lupe Fiasco, New York hipsters MGMT and guitarist Joe Satriani. The local dream-rockers and their single, Feel. Love. Thinking. Of., are featured on the soundtrack for the new video game, NHL 2K10. (Not to be mistaken with NHL 10.)

* The Bounce 91.7 FM ’s latest Showdown winner, Justin Blais, is now promoting his first soul-pop single, Some Kind of Beautiful. He recorded the song and another, One Night, with Vancouver’s Hipjoint Productions. They’ve also written tunes for Kreesha Turner, Shiloh and Quanteisha Benjamin.
