Prediction: Two-time Polaris Music Prize finalist Chad VanGaalen will make next year's shortlist with his electro side-project, Black Mold. OK, so I might be jumping the gun ... Black Mold's first album, Snow Blindness Is Crystal Antz, isn't even in stores yet. (Release date: Aug. 11 on Flemish Eye.) But based on the first two tracks, Metal Spider Webs and Tetra Pack Heads, I've got high hopes for the rest of the disc. You can download them here.
